Dina Chaerani

Dina Chaerani is an Indonesian feminist strategist, communicator, and movement-builder working across sexual and reproductive health rights and justice (SRHRJ), gender justice, youth power, global health, digital rights, and climate justice. Based in The Hague, she works between Indonesia, Europe, and global policy spaces, translating evidence into advocacy that people can understand, trust, and use.

She currently works with the Fossil Economy Program at the Center for International Environmental Law and leads advocacy and partnerships at the Youth Interfaith Forum on Sexuality (YIFoS) Indonesia. She is also the co-founder of Sexdugram and creator of Sex O’Clock News, a feminist digital newsroom that makes complex and stigmatized issues, including consent, abortion, online violence, and reproductive justice, publicly accessible without stripping them of their politics.

Previously, Dina coordinated community and partnership work at YIELD Hub, including a global learning and leadership community for young people working in adolescent and youth SRHR. She serves on the Board of the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights and was a member of the SheDecides Youth Advisory Panel.

Her work spans strategic communications, partnership development, participatory facilitation, policy translation, training, research dissemination, and meaningful youth engagement. She has contributed to global processes convened by WHO, UNFPA, Women Deliver, and other civil society and multilateral actors.

Her practice is guided by a practical question: if communities can tell their stories but cannot influence the decision, is that participation or extraction? She therefore treats lived experience as expertise, communication as infrastructure, and young people as political actors rather than beneficiaries.

Dina holds an MA in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam, specialising in Children and Youth Studies and Public Policy and Management.
