Nukri Tabidze (they/them) is a researcher and consultant in the field of gender justice, conflict transformation, social movements and environmental justice. Originally from Georgia, they began their career as a freelance researcher and editor for local LGBTQ+ and feminist organizations and funds. Throughout the last five years they have expanded their expertise over a larger geographical scope and have been conducting multi-site research projects in Central and Eastern Europe, Balkans, Caucasus and Central Asia. Their research portfolio includes research projects about funding trends and resource distribution, needs assessments studies, migration and displacement in Eastern and Central Europe and Central Asia, analysis of gender and identity based disinformation in South Caucasus. Their research findings are translated into strategic recommendations that are instrumental for international organizations and grassroots social movements in their efforts to advance gender equality, overcome transphobic and homophobic hate speech, develop crisis response and participatory grantmaking strategies, center voices of the oppressed communities in storytelling and advocacy, and institutionalize collective care practices.
Their diverse research skills include qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as participatory and creative inquiry. Apart from research and knowledge production Nukri is involved in transnational feminist movement building and resource advocacy for feminist and transgender collectives and organizations. Nukri has co-organised and facilitated several convenings and gatherings that aim to unite organisers across regional and conflict divides. They hold MA degrees in Social Anthropology and Sociology from Central European University and in Gender Studies from Tbilisi State University.
Originally from Georgia, Nukri currently lives in Berlin, Germany.
